John Muir Laws – The Laws Field Guide To The Sierra Nevada

This is a really nice book. If you live near the Sierra Nevada Mountains and enjoy hiking and nature and the like, it’s really great, but even if you live far away from here, it’s still nice to look at. Six years of research went into this book and Laws did all the watercolor illustrations for it. It has guides to identify all kinds of plants, fungi, insects and animals. It has a few pages on the tracks that animals make and even a section on animal droppings, with color illustrations!

I’m really glad I bought this book and I’ll probably buy another copy as a gift for someone.
