John Scalzi – The Ghost Brigades

The Ghost Brigades is an old school science fiction novel. Heinlein with more cussing.
In the future, man has colonized many other planets and found that they are not alone. Many other races are out there and the place is a jungle. Protecting mankind are the ghost brigades, special forces units made of vat grown soldiers that are made of genetically modified dna, force grown and implanted with brain computers. A few weeks after being born they are ready for their first mission.
I liked it. It’s not Heinlein, but it’s cool.
