I found an issue of PC Gamer in the school library today.
I was reading a cool article about SW:TOR.
Then I noticed the date on the magazine was 2008.
Reading about game development is like watching soap operas. You can pick up on them after two years and you haven't missed much.
I'm having fun with TotOR. So maybe I'll give this one a shot.
MMO's turn into a level grind so quickly though.
Except UO. But UO was special, and the exception.
I'm not sure why I could do the same dungeon several times a day for many months and it was just as fun every time.
But if I forget to save and I have to retrace my steps and repeat a quest in some other RPG, I get pissed.

Dang it, the more I read about this game, the more it sounds really cool.
It's tough to judge it on magazine articles because I swear those guys are getting paid to verbally [reference redacted] games in development.
But they do promise that there will be no "go kill 20 womp rats for Moisture Farmer Ted" quests and that HOW you complete a quest will alter your light/darkness and affect how NPCs treat you.
And that you're treated like a hero, and not an errand boy.
So then how do they make 5000 heroes on one server make any kind of sense?
"Yeah, I'm the Chosen One. And so is he, and that guy over there, and that chick in the cantina, and my droid, and my pet Bantha, Fuzzy."

Some others have brought that up as well. I'm not sure, but if I know Bioware they'll pull it off. I'll be pre-ordering this one, and praying for BETA. Hopefully I get into beta

If anyone can do it, I would give odds to BioWare more than any others.
They tend to stress good writing in their games more so than other companies.

Yeah and that's apparent in SW:TOR with the amount of effort they have put into the voice over.

One of my main concerns is the fact that Bioware is used to doing single player games and the stories/quests they make for the MMO won't transition well especially with their dynamic stories and questlines. For example, if I were needing help with a level 10 quest from a town that gets destroyed during a level 15 quest line. You have a level 20 character who's already done the level 15 quest which results in the destruction of the town. You might not be able to help me because you wouldn't be able to see me or the npcs needed to complete the quest.

Just keep Anti away from the Ewoks.
When she used to play before, she used to burn Ewok villages with a flame thrower.
It was like the My Lai Massacre, except with teddy bears.

That was one of the sweetest parts of SWO - making the ewoks and gungans pay! I finally had to give up because I had unresolvable connection problems.
