Harry Turtledove – The Gladiator

This isn’t a super exciting book. Not much action at all. It caught my eye in the library because of it’s name and then the cover illustration of a hand holding a d20 (a twenty sided dice, for you non gamers).
The basic story is that in an alternative time line, where the USSR won the cold war and pretty much every place is a under communist rule, a game store is opened by some agents from a time line much like ours in an attempt to introduce subversive elements like capitalism into the communist society.
They are discovered and shut down but one agent is stranded and two local young people have to deal with him. Minor hijinks ensue.
