Drive-By Truckers – Live at Visulite Theater on 2004-07-29

The Drive-By Truckers are one of my favorite bands that currently exist. I can’t think of any other band that it’s possible to see live right now that I’d rather see. The music is some sort of southern country rock. Pure American. Blue collar. Songs about drinking and seeing AC/DC and racing cars and suicide and all kinds of cool stuff like that 🙂
They have a new album coming out soon and I was put in the mood for some live DBT so I went over to archive.org and downloaded this show
All the live shows on archive.org are free and legal for downloading. The DBT have over 200 shows there but there are tons of other bands with shows also. Check that place out.
This show is awesome. Great recording and great sound. The Drive-By Truckers are one of those bands that play a lot of concerts. Some bands just don’t sound that great live, but the DBTs do. Download this show, give it a few listens. If you like it, go buy a few of their cds. I started with Decoration Day and that’s probably a good one to start with but Southern Rock Opera, The Dirty South and A Blessing And A Curse are great too.
Even if you don’t buy any of their stuff, download some of these free shows and check their tour dates. Go see em live. Hopefully I’ll be there someday too.
